The aim of this study is to develop a scale to determine the preferences of distance education students for constructivist learning. The
form designed to develop the scale was applied online at a state university in the Mediterranean Region of Turkey. A total of 356 students
participated in the study. Explanatory factor analysis was performed with 220 participants while confirmatory factor analysis was applied
to 136 participants. At the end of the exploratory factor analysis, it was determined that the scale consists of 20 items and two subdimensions.
These dimensions are called “teaching process” and “interaction”. The following confirmatory factor verified the structure
found in Exploratory factor analysis. Findings of the study indicate that the scale is valid and reliable.
