A Survey Development Study for Determining the Characteristics of Foreign Students |

The number of foreign students in higher education institutions of Turkey are increasing within the scope of internationalization policies.
The aim of this study is to develop a “Survey for Determining Foreign Student Characteristics” for assigning students’ demographic,
academic, socioeconomic, and cultural characteristics in Bursa Uludağ University Vocational School of Health Services. As a result of
literature review, survey was discussed under demographic, academic, socioeconomic, and cultural dimensions. For the draft questionnaire
consisting of 35 questions, expert opinion was applied, and five students were pre-applied. After the expert and student feedback, the reorganized
questionnaire was reduced to 34 questions and applied to 50 students determined by a disproportionate stratified sampling
method. The KGI values calculated for the four dimensions included in the questionnaire ranged from 0.91 to 1.00. The survey developed
in this study is thought to contribute to the field in order to reveal the profile of foreign students and determine the needs of the students.
