Students’ Perception of Discrimination Scale: A Reliability and Validity Study |

In the present research, with the aim of developing “Students’ Perception of Discrimination Scale (SPDS) to evaluate students’ perception
of discrimination at educational organizations the validity and reliability studies were conducted. The research was conducted with the
participation of 293 university students from Gazi and Hacettepe Universities in Ankara. Within this scope, firstly pilot study of the scale
was conducted and later final form of the scale with 16 items and one factor was applied to the participants. The data of the study was
analyzed via exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient. The findings of the
analysis showed that SPDS was a valid and reliable instrument and it was convenient to be utilized in educational organizations.
